Hydramama FAQs

Everything you need to know about Mini + Me Hydramama, the zero sugar hydration drink for breastfeeding mums, pregnancy and beyond. What's in it, whether it suits you, how it tastes and how to use it.

About Hydramama

What is Hydramama?

Hydramama is a zero sugar hydration drink from Australian brand Mini + Me. Each 8g sachet mixes into water to make a refreshing drink with electrolytes (sodium, potassium and magnesium), Vitamin B6, Vitamin C and methylated folate. It's endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives and comes in ten flavours.

Who is Hydramama for?

It was designed with expecting and new parents in mind, through preconception, pregnancy, breastfeeding and the months after. It's also a sugar free drink for the whole family, following advice from your healthcare professional.

Why is Hydramama so popular?

It's one of our most popular products. Plain water can feel like a chore when you're feeding around the clock and Hydramama gives you something you actually want to drink. The individual sachets are easy to keep in the nappy bag or beside the feeding chair and with ten flavours there's plenty of variety.

Has Hydramama won any awards?
  • Bounty Baby Awards 2025: Gold in Best Product or Service for Mum, and Silver in Best Vitamin or Supplement for Mum
  • Clean + Conscious Awards 2024: Gold in Best Women's Health Product
  • Bounty Baby Awards 2024: Silver in Best Vitamin or Supplement for Mum, and Bronze in Best Product or Service for Mum

Breastfeeding and Pregnancy

Can I drink Hydramama while breastfeeding?

Yes. Hydramama is suitable for breastfeeding, following advice from your healthcare professional and it's endorsed by the Australian College of Midwives. If you have any questions about whether it's right for you, Mini + Me recommend chatting with your midwife or doctor.

Is Hydramama suitable during pregnancy?

Yes, following advice from your healthcare professional. It's designed to support parents from preconception onwards.

Will Hydramama increase my milk supply?

Hydramama is a hydration drink and isn't designed to increase milk supply. If you have concerns about your supply, speak with your midwife, a lactation consultant or the Australian Breastfeeding Association.

Does it replace my prenatal vitamin?

No. Hydramama is designed to complement a balanced diet and your existing routine. It is not a replacement for prenatal vitamins.

How much folate is in each serve?

Each serve contains 50µg of bioavailable methylated folate, which is 25% of the RDI. Folate contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy and normal blood formation.

What do the other nutrients do?
  • Magnesium: supports electrolyte balance and normal nerve and muscle function, and contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue
  • Vitamin C: contributes to energy metabolism, immune system function and connective tissue function
  • Vitamin B6: contributes to normal energy metabolism, nervous system function, red blood cell formation and the regulation of hormonal activity

Taste and Flavours

What does Hydramama taste like?

Each flavour is light and refreshing. It's sweetened with erythritol rather than sugar, which Mini + Me chose because it has no aftertaste. You can make it stronger or milder by mixing a sachet into anywhere from 250 to 600mL of water.

What flavours are available?
Which flavour should I try first?

Grape is one of the most popular flavours on our website and Tropical and Peach Iced Tea are favourites in our Adamstown store. If you like something tangy, try Watermelon and Lime or Passionfruit and Orange.

Can I use Hydramama in other ways?

Yes. Add a splash of sparkling water for some fizz, or try one of the recipes in our Hydramama blog post, including Cola Gummies, a Peach Iced Tea Mocktail and Watermelon and Lime Icy Poles.
